On Wednesday 28th July 2010, Sydney’s renowned Italian chef Alessandro Pavoni from Ormeggio Restaurant will host an exclusive Master Class with Barilla’s Executive Chef Luca Ciano at Casa Barilla.

 

Brescia-born Chef Alessandro Pavoni started his career in Italy’s North and worked in many Michelin-starred restaurants around the world such as two-stars Villa Fiordaliso on Lake Garda, la Rotonde In France and Lido in Bermuda. His Sydney venture includes the Park Hyatt Hotel before recently opening his own restaurant, northern Italian gem Ormeggio at the Split in Mosman.

Joining Alessandro is Luca Ciano, Executive Chef at Barilla, who was born and raised in Milan and whose career includes a stint in the Michelin-starred restaurant Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia in Milan, together with several world class restaurants.

 

Together these chefs invite you to join them for an intimate Master Class not to be missed, celebrating the best of Italian cuisine, and sharing chef-quality dishes that are easy to replicate at home.

 

Guests at the Master Class will be treated to canapés and prosecco on arrival, and a generous take-home pack of recipes and Barilla’s products at the end of the evening

On Tuesday 17th August 2010, Sydney’s Celebrity Italian chef Giovanni Pilu, chef and owner of Pilu at Freshwater, will host an exclusive Master Class with Barilla’s Executive Chef Luca Ciano at Casa Barilla.

 

Giovanni Pilu was born in Sardinia and arrived in Australia in 1992, aged 20 and full of enthusiasm and passion for the unique flavours of his homeland.

Upon completing his apprenticeship in Sydney he established and ran his first restaurant - Cala Luna in Mosman (which was awarded one hat) which he owned for 7 years before moving to larger premises at Pilu at Freshwater in 2004.  The restaurant was recognised in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide as ‘Best New Restaurant’ in its first year of opening.  

Joining Giovanni is Luca Ciano, Executive Chef at Barilla, who was born and raised in Milan and whose career includes a stint in the Michelin-starred restaurant Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia in Milan, together with several world class restaurants in Australia and around the world.
