Firstly we would like to thank you for taking the time to enquire
about our competition "Win a Trip to Italy with Barilla".
Unfortunately there was a misprint on our entry form, it should
have read REMOVE FROM SHELF 28.09.08 and the mistake was not
picked up until towards the end of the promotion. As soon as we
learnt of this error, our sales representatives throughout
Australia were notified and instructed to remove the forms from
display on 1 October 2008.
Please be assured that we have notified our brokers almost every
day since 1st October that these entry forms must be
removed from the shelf urgently. But unfortunately we are still
hearing that these entry forms are still in some stores.
The phrase REMOVE FROM SHELF (date) is required by Coles to
communicate to their store managers (and our sales
representatives/merchandisers) to take entry forms down from
show, so that no promotions stay on the shelf past the closing
date of the competition.
Our competitions are arranged to reward our Barilla customers,
not to mislead them.
We sincerely regret your disappointment in not being able to
enter this competition. We are happy to confirm that Barilla will
be running other promotions during the next twelve months and
these will include similar prizes. As a goodwill gesture, if you
have entered the competition (either by mail or via online
application) between 1 October 2008 and 28 October 2008 and you
still have your receipt and barcodes, we will automatically enter
you into the next competition.
We would like to again convey our sincere apologies.
If you have any further questions or comments please do not
hesitate to contact us. Also, if you do come across a Coles store
that is still displaying the entry forms, we would appreciate you
letting us know and we will send someone to the store
immediately.
